The unchallenged podium provided by The New York Times to Mohammad Bin Salman reduces the former to a Saudi Wahhabi Shill.

Wahhabi Shill? The New York Times published a typically unchallenged and softball interview of Mohammad Salman (MS) a Saudi war criminal despot. This despot is leading a US-backed campaign of bombing and starving the children of Yemen. During the interview, the Wahhabi MS accused the Iranians of following an “extremist ideology” and stated his intentions of leading an army against the Imam Mahdi – the descendant of the Holy Prophet.

Actually, Sunni, Shia and Ahmadis believe in the concept (with variations) of a Messiah named Mahdi who will be accompanied by Jesus Christ (a revered Prophet as per Muslim belief) to save humanity from destruction. There are different variations of this belief amongst different Muslim sects where some believe that Imam Mahdi will be descended from the direct chain of the Holy Prophet while others adhere to a more non specific view.

With this interview, the New York Times insidiously attempted to establish the Salafi-Wahhabi interpretation as the norm while subtly presenting mainstream Sunni and Shia interpretations as deviations from the Wahhabi norm. There was nothing in terms of a qualitative rejoinder from Shia or Sunni scholars, nor was there the crucial context that the Saudi despotic regime are the primary sponsors of Al Qaeda and ISIS.

So no context or an alternative point of view on the topic of discussion. Sound familiar!

In shilling for Wahhabis, TheNewYorkTimes has itself become a Wahhabi rag. Nothing surprising for a rag that published liars like Judith Miller and ISIS Apologists like that blowhard Tommy Friedman.
