Shia Islam negates Racism

Recently, a chart has been circulating on social media highlighting the African, Arab, Persian and Turkish ancestry of the Imams. The chart omits the South Asian ancestry and connection of the Imams.

However, the point is that Shia Islam celebrates the diverse ancestry of the Infallible Imams and focused on spiritual purity.

This point must be appreciated that the most loyal and devout companions of Holy Prophet and the Imams were not Arab or fair-skinned.

This notion of racial purity and White Supremacy is an accursed remnant of Western colonialism. It is a curse of modernity.

Shia Islam eschews racial classifications and hierarchies and the lineage of the Holy Prophet and the Infallible Imams makes that point. The focus is on piety, belief, and spirituality as opposed to racist and colonial notions of “purity”

Racism and materialism are the accursed legacies of colonialism. Racism corrupts the soul and materialism corrupts faith.

This is the materialism that puts faith in competition with function. Just as racism places skin color over spiritual purity.
