Last year, Muawiyah Azam, a controversial member of the banned Takfiri Sipah e Sahaba, was made a member of a committee to review and compile the curriculum of Islamic history.

A new bill was passed in June this year under which the Punjab Textbook Board would get all religious books and curricula approved by the Muttahida Ulema Board. Yes, this is the same United Board that was formed last year and whose member is Muawiyah Azam. According to the bill, hatred against Islam and holy figures is being spread in the curriculum, so review and approval of scholars is necessary.

In June of the same year, the Protection of the Prophet’s Honor and the Companions’ Honor Bill was passed and became part of the law. Apparently this is a bill to curb religious hatred but in reality it is another form of Bill 295C which has added to the difficulties for non-Muslims and Muslim sects like Shias in Pakistan. This is the same bill that Azam Tariq, the founder of Sipah-e-Sahaba, always dreamed of getting passed but never succeeded and which has now been passed by the backers of Takfiris sitting in the assemblies. When the bill was passed, Muawiyah Azam took a copy of it and went to the grave of Azam Tariq with the words that his work has been completed today. This will give you an idea of the seriousness of this bill.

Now a new bill has been introduced which recommends that the A.S should be used with the names of only certain personalities. Evidence suggests that this bill will also be passed and writing the names of the Ahl al-Bayt with A.S in religious and textbooks will cease. Remember, all these bills are being made by a Takfiri terrorist who is himself a controversial person and the son of a notorious terrorist. The bill presented by him should not be passed, but should be declared controversial.

We have always said that the place for terrorists is jail, not assemblies. At present, Sipah-e-Sahaba is sitting in the Assembly in the name of Rah-e-Haq Party and the direction in which the situation is heading is in front of everyone. The influence of takfiri terrorists is growing stronger. They are strengthening their roots everywhere, from the streets to the legislature.

Forgive the insolence but here the question arises that there is a representative of Shiites in the Punjab Assembly who is on par with Muawiyah Azam. Where did this terrorist become a member of an important committee in two years, to get two important bills passed, what did you do there? Will the Shia MPA in the Punjab Assembly raise any voice against all these bills? We the people can protest but the constitutional protest against the controversial bills passed in the assemblies is more effective if it is from within the assembly. As bills and laws based on religious terrorism are being passed, at least there should be protests from within the assembly.
